Our beautiful, beloved ‘lil Sis, Aunt, and friend, Kristie Withers age 59, slipped peacefully away into the joyful arms of our mom and dad, Wednesday September 4, 2024, in Fairview, Utah. Kristie was born to Melvin and Beverly Withers as their sixth child, on April 4, 1965, in Murray, UT. She was raised in Draper and graduated from Jordan Valley School. Her friends (The Graduates) stayed in contact through the years because of a special teacher, Erin. Erin took the time to get this group together on a regular basis to do such things as...bowling, birthday parties, movies, and luncheons.
Kristie participated in many Special Olympic competitions. One of the highlights at the early age of eight years old, she had the opportunity to fly back to Kentucky with several of her teachers. She also was able to be the torch bearer in one of the Special Olympics. She had an extensive collection of Special Olympic medals that she was very proud of.
She had several jobs, her favorite one was working at "Hardees" drive in.
Kristie spent many memorable times at the family cabin, the Withers Pinecone Ranch. Her special spot was "KRISTIE'S HIDEOUT", where she and her many nieces and nephews shared many fun times.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One of her special occasions was when she was sealed to her parents with her sisters, Aug 16, 2018, in the Manti, Utah Temple.
She loved being present at nieces and nephew's milestones, such as baptisms, weddings, sporting events or just hanging out with them.
Kristie's hobbies and interests are tinkering, inventing gadgets, any kind of crafts, drawing, coloring, word searches, puzzles, TV viewing, bowling, slug bugging (whenever she spotted a VW Beetle Bug, she would slug the arm of the person next to her) and a tormentor, slayer of hornets (only got stung once!).
She enjoyed her many cats, being a GPS, and remembering everything for us! Her favorite color was ORANGE!
Our hearts are full, we will all miss the vibrant ray of sunshine that she was to each of us, always cheerful, seeing the good in everything and everyone, and keeping us always smiling. We also are very happy knowing that Kristie is now whole, and free from her earthly challenges. Run like the wind Kris!
Kristie is survived by her siblings, Rick, Randy (Lynette), Rusty, Cindy (Scott) Durrant, Connie (Kevin) Lund, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Beverly Withers, sister-in-law, Terry Withers, and niece, J.C. Sorensen.
Services will be held Friday, September 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S) Sandy). Viewing at the mortuary from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Guestbook/Condolences
Oh Aunt Kristie - I have so many great memories of you and your sweet personality. You were always so excited to have visitors had the best sense of humor. Hearing you laugh (and you were quick to laugh) would brighten any day. As a kid I remember you always having art projects going on, including creating structures out of popsicle sticks, and you were so proud to show everyone your work. I remember you hanging out with your many friends, and I loved visiting you when you would be working at Hardees. You were the best TV-watching pal - we watched so much Nickelodeon. I remember you laying in your "spot" in front of the TV - I think there was a worn area in the carpet from where you would lay. I thought it was a fun game to try to sneak through the living room (while you were watching TV) without you noticing - but you usually would notice and say "Linds!" You loved The California Raisins and I still cannot hear "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" without thinking about you. We love you Kristie and will miss you so much, and will think of you anytime we see the color orange.
