Gordon Julian Herrick

1939 ~ 2015

Gordon Julian Herrick peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah due to illness. He was born to LaPriel Turnbaugh and Julian O. Herrick on March 3, 1939 in Oroville, California. He grew up in California with his siblings Sherrill Fay Herrick, Jean Lorraine Ostler (Gene), Kent Francis Herrick (Joan), and Brent Arthur Herrick (Geri). They later moved to Utah where he met his eternal companion, Eva Edwards, and was sealed in the Manti Utah Temple on July 21, 1961. They raised their five children, Cindy Lowe (Dennis), Chris Valdez (Todd), Char Ramirez (Brian), Daniel Herrick (Terri) and Carolyn Gurule (Joe) with love and taught us what it means to be a family.

He retired after 31 years serving his country in the United States Air Force. Once he retired, he decided to drive a bus for Granite School District before retiring for real this time. As a member of the LDS church, he served in many callings, but his best loved was his time serving in scouts. He loved doing his genealogy and would talk to everyone about it. He participated in the Pony Express and loved his horses and dogs.

Gordon is survived by his wife, 5 children, 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and son-in-law, Dennis Lowe.

Our family would like to thank those that took such good care while he was in your facilities, especially Christal and Lester.
