Kyle Christian Sorensen was born June 19, 1996, in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away to our loving Heavenly Father with family by his side on December 31, 2023, in Riverton, Utah.

Kyle touched many lives. He always wanted to be home with family. You could always hear him holler “Dad”. Kyle loved sports including going to BYU football games, Jazz games, Grizzlies hockey games, Bees baseball games, and fishing. He was a fighter. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. We always said Kyle was a cat. His family lost him 8 times and he always bounced back. Kyle really enjoyed selling snow cones in front of Walgreens with his dad. He liked making money & putting it in his money jar. He loved playing games with family, friends, and neighbors. Kyle loved chess, Uno and Farkle. His favorite food was KFC. Some of his favorite movies were Remember the Titan’s, Rudy, The Rookie, Rookie of the Year, the Harry Potter series, and he loved Sponge Bob. Kyle always liked to smile and make people laugh with an occasional knock-knock joke.

He graduated from Herriman High School and then attended South Valley School.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lisa Lynn Nunley Sorensen. He is survived by his father Gary Ernest Sorensen, siblings Kamron, Alisa (Mike) Barnhurst, Moriah and Ashton, grandmother Florence Weeks Nunley and grandmother Claudia Sorensen. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who he loved. We know that his mother was waiting for him with open arms along with many others. Now Kyle can be able to do the things he couldn’t do. Run free little buddy.

The family would also like to thank the Staff at the U of U Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, Canyon Home Health & The Staff at Neuro Restorative for all of the service they provided for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Pioneer 7th Ward, 14172 Emmeline Drive, Herriman, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday evening, January 12, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 am prior to the services at the church.

I loved Kyle. Playing chest with him was a great experience and he always had something to say. He made deacons teachers and priests quorum so much fun. It’s heartbreaking that he has left. I’m so sorry for your loss.
