Boyd Devere Andersen, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 28th, 2013. He married his sweetheart Kathleen (Kay) Olsen on August 12th, 1948 in the Logan Temple. Boyd was a Ships Gunner in the US Navy during World War II. His early career interest was short acting parts in movies ("My Darling Clementine") and TV Shows ("The Executioner's Song"). Boyd later moved his family from LA to Salt Lake City where he became a carpenter and retired from that trade. He was a devoted husband and father and was known for his wit and humor. Survived by his wife, daughters Judy (Roger) Carr, Marsha (Dan) Collier, Laurel (Steve) Knight, son Kelly (DeAnn) and sister Karen (Alan) Huebner, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren with one on the way. Preceded in death by his brother Jerry, son Kerry, two son-in-laws and two grandsons.
Graveside services at noon on Monday, Dec. 2nd at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations for funeral expenses. Online condolences can be made at larkincares.com
