Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Donald Melvin Sundberg, passed away peacefully at his home in Murray on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Don was born on November 8, 1933 to Leo Victor and Margaret Cox Sundberg in Sandy, Utah.
Don was a devoted husband and a wonderful father. He worked for and retired from Kennecott Copper. He was a veteran of the United Stated Air Force and served our country honorably. Some of the activities that Don loved included coaching baseball, which he did for many years, camping, fishing, gardening and puzzles. He was also an avid reader and a devoted Christian. Along with baseball Don also loved football and he never missed a Sunday football game.
Don is survived by his wife Velma; children Scott (Karen) Sundberg, Sheri (Scott) Anderson, Steve (Maria) Sundberg, and Todd (Colleen) Sundberg; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many foster children and also his little Yorkie Gracie. Preceded in death by his mother, father, sister and brother.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to services at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
