Audrey Gardner Austin passed away on March 12, 2020. She was born on September 28, 1930, in El Centro, California. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Bosie and Cora Gardner. She had 4 brothers. Audrey is survived by her sons Donnie (Lisa) and Mark (Patrice) and her daughter Sherryl Madsen (Russ), 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by and reunited with her son Stephen Lynn Austin.
Audrey grew up in Southern California, later moved to Northern California where she and her husband purchased a jewelry store. Later she owned and managed the jewelry store for a number of years before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah. While in Utah she worked as a jewelry specialist in the Dillard's jewelry department.
She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while living in Northern California after being introduced to genealogy work. After retiring from Dillard's she spent much of her time doing genealogy and family history, which she greatly loved. She held various Relief Society service positions throughout her life and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Audrey will forever be remembered as a strong and independent woman who loved the Lord and represented Him in all she did. She loved her family, friends and neighbors deeply and everyone felt her warmth and love. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and they in turn loved her and will miss her sparkling smile and generous hugs.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy Utah 84092. A viewing will be held from 10:00 ‚ 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
