Our loving mother, LaPriel G. Hunter returned to her loving Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Herriman, Utah, at the age of 95. She was born on July 5, 1930, in Syracuse, Utah, to Marlin Gailey and Laura S. Gailey. LaPriel was married in Salt Lake City, Utah to her sweetheart, Kenneth D. Hunter.
LaPriel was a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She fulfilled a mission to the Western States Mission and served generously in numerous callings throughout her life. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her commitment to service, her strong sense of family, and her optimistic approach to life. She embodied a deep spirituality and genuine concern for others, earning the love and respect of all who knew her.
LaPriel is survived by her children: Kenneth M. (Angie), Keri H. (Bruce), Kelli (John), and Kristopher D. (Angie). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth D. Hunter, and her son, Kyle Hunter.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the University of Utah Cardiovascular Acute Care Unit and Applegate Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate service. Special appreciation is extended to Tyler Morrison and Coltin Morrison at Larkin Mortuary for their tender care and professional assistance.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary-Riverton located at 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT 84065. A second viewing will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Herriman chapel located at 13381 S 6000 W, Herriman, UT 84096.The funeral service will immediately follow at the same location on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Memorial Estates Redwood Cemetery, located at 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84084.

I've heard many stories about Aunt LaPriel from my grandma (Sandra Alexander), visiting with her at weddings, funerals, and other family gatherings has been my favorite. I was able to visit with her and her family along with my mother (Julie) and grandma (Aunt Sandra). I loved hearing her stories, and just sitting and visiting was absolutely the best Sunday ever. This is also to Kerri, Kenny, Kelli, and their families.
You gave a wonderful tribute to LaPriel Hunter today. She is what you all said she is. There were a few times when I was alone with her, she expressed great kindness to me also. LaPriel was easy and fun to talk to. What she said was very important to me.
My thoughts and prayers are for all of you at this time. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it. I really am.
