My kind and dear Dad, Larry Lloyd Flory, was born a twin in Rose Hill, IL on February 26, 1943, to Ella Elnora Brooks and Carl Kenneth Webb. He and his twin brother Terry were later adopted at the age of three by Zola Rachel Barden and Eldo Wilson Flory. At the age of 31 he met his biological father Carl Kenneth Webb, a few months before Carl passed away.

Among his many achievements in life, he received a Business Degree from Arapahoe Community College and worked as a Buyer at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis, Oregon for 24 years.

My father had a great love for animals, travel, being outdoors, people, fishing, cooking, camping, and gardening (unfortunately, I did not inherit the love for gardening). In addition, he enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events.

He was, and still is, a generous and thoughtful soul. Because of his BIG heart, caring for those in need and rooting for the underdog, came naturally to him. A good friend Bryan described him to a T when he said, “Larry was a Little Giant!” Although my father experienced many hardships during his life, he was able to prevail and move forward. His motto was “Never Give Up.” He freely shared his quick sense of humor and infectious laugh with all those around him. Through his example, as well as my mom’s, I have learned the importance of hard work, respect for all people and good manners.

Whenever I see a Hummingbird, enjoy a root beer float, or see a Hibiscus plant I will remember my sweet Dad. He passed away with family by his side on July 15, 2023, in Murray, Utah, from Esophageal Cancer. We will honor his wishes and have his ashes spread in the Smith River in Oregon at a future date. We miss him dearly!

We were very sad to hear of his older brother’s passing, Dwight Webb, 85, on August 9, 2023.

Larry is survived by his only daughter, Angie (Herbert) Remon; his former wife Mattie (Richard) Kirby; nieces Julee (Mike) Carney, Pamela (Don) Shacklee, Peggy (Ron Anderson) Johnson; nephews Larry Webb, Jesse (Melissa) Flory and Dave Flory; stepsiblings Janet (Mike) Davidson, Barb Gorman, Robert Webb and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Elnora Webb, Carl Kenneth Webb; adopted parents, Zola Rachel Barden and Eldo Wilson Flory, twin brother Terry Flory, sister Delores Almond; stepbrother, Donnie Webb, and his best friend Ricardo “Bo” Lee Bautista.
