Listen to Obituary

Lawrence Wesley Corsini, born on February 25, 1971, was welcomed into the world by loving parents, Lawrence Anthony Corsini and Sharon Elsie Sparr Corsini, and two adoring older sisters. From the very beginning, he was the apple of his mother's eye and the cherished only son and brother.

Growing up in Foresthill, California, Larry developed a deep love for sports and the great outdoors. His childhood days were filled with Little League baseball (3rd-8th grade), basketball, working at the Foresthill Pool, and countless adventures in nature. He attended Foresthill Elementary, speaking at 8th-grade graduation, and later graduated from Placer High School in 1989, where he was a member of the freshman basketball team and an enthusiastic supporter of his classmates at football and basketball games.

After high school, Larry pursued higher education at BYU, truly enjoying the college experience. Later he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico South Mission, which were some of the happiest days of his life. Larry’s mission friends became his lifelong friends. He was one of the most people pleasing, friendly, social and loving people you could ever meet.

His love for people led him to a successful career in the hospitality industry, where he worked tirelessly for various hotel chains across the country, including: Ritz Carlton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Hotel Park City, the Vail Resorts, and most recently Omni Las Colinas Hotel, leaving a positive impact wherever he went.

Midway through his career, Larry seized the opportunity to pursue his passion for cooking by returning to school. He enrolled in a culinary arts program and eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree from Utah Valley University, a source of immense pride for him. Subsequently, he applied his culinary skills at HCA HealthCare and esteemed establishments in Deer Valley: Stein Eriksen Lodge and St. Regis.

Larry's true happiness, however, was found in his family. He married Miriam Aparicio Martinez in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 28, 2009. His three children, Stefano, Larry, and Gabby, held a special place in his heart and brought him immeasurable joy and pride. Family time was always filled with time in the kitchen and cooking for others. He was always up bright and early cleaning the car, getting groceries, preparing dough, rising bread, and cooking up delicious foods. If he wasn’t cooking something he was figuring out where the next best place to go eat was, planning outdoor adventures, going on roadtrips - listening to favorite music, serving others, and hosting gatherings. No matter how tired he was, he was always singing and smiling and whistling around the house.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Larry served diligently in various callings throughout his life. Despite facing health challenges in his later years, Larry remained a pillar of strength for his family and friends, never losing his optimism for life.

On May 6, 2024, Lawrence Wesley Corsini passed away from health complications of diabetes, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Larry is survived by his wife, Miriam Aparicio Martinez, sons: Stefano Lawrence Corsini and Lawrence Raul Corsini, daughter Gabriella Rebecca Corsini, sisters Tina (Jan) Day and Keri Corsini Eberhard (Matt), and mother-in-law Rebeca Martinez Aguilar and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Larry's colleagues at Omni Las Colinas Hotel, the exceptional healthcare professionals at Baylor Scott and White ICU, and lastly, Lucas and Larkin Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions towards alleviating the burden of staggering medical expenses incurred during Larry’s illness. Your support during this difficult time is deeply appreciated. Donations can be sent to Miriam via Venmo @miriam-corsini
