Daryl Hart Teeples

1935 ~ 2016

Daryl Hart Teeples passed away peacefully on January 21, of natural causes, surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 3, 1935 in Pocatello, Idaho to Morris Willis Teeples and Suzanna Gertrude Butikofer. He was reared in Pocatello and Lava Hot Springs, Idaho and graduated from high school in 1953. He attended Idaho State University, then served an LDS mission in the Swiss Austrian mission. Later, he attended BYU where he received a master's degree in math and German. He married Janet Stanton in the Salt Lake Temple in 1962.

He taught high school for seven years in St. Helens, Oregon, then moved with his family to Germany where he attended the University of Stuttgart and later taught at the Herman Leitz Schule on the island of Spiegeroog. When Daryl and his family moved back to the US he taught math, German, and photography at Woods Cross High School for 27 years, where he also spent several years as the yearbook advisor. He loved photography and photographed many bridals and weddings. After retiring in 2000 he and Janet served missions for the LDS church in Berlin, Germany, an inner-city mission in Salt Lake City, and a church history mission. Daryl was a hard-working man who was patient, loving, and very creative. His family was everything to him. He was a faithful member of the LDS church who loved the gospel, and served in various callings throughout his life, as well as a temple worker in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples.

He is survived by his wife Janet, children Perrine Alexander (Jay), Lynette Parkin (Bob), Zoeanne Yoshikawa (Vance), Tad Teeples (Melanie), Darin Teeples (Lisa), Chalyce Glauser (Aaron), sister Karen Sommerfeldt, brother Jerry Teeples, 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Twoinette, his parents, sister Denise and brother Ken.

Services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at the LDS church located at 115 E. Wicker Lane in Bountiful. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am, as well as the night before from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the same location. Interment will immediately follow in the Bountiful cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the caregivers at Heritage Place.
