Collette was born on July 4th, 1958 to Wayne and DeeAnn DeMill in Cody, Wyoming. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend. She is fondly remembered by both of her parents, her loving husband, Arthur Brookshire, her daughters Britt Whitney and Stefanie Whitney, her sons Michael Whitney and Kiel Whitney, as well as her siblings Wayne DeMill Jr., Pam Welch, Christy Anderson, and Debra Nordenstam and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Dawn DeMill.
She grew up in Lompoc, California, before moving to Cowley, Wyoming where she attended and graduated from Cowley High School. She participated in several extra curricular activities like various choral groups, photography and the pep club. She loved music, playing both the clarinet and the piano.
Collette had a sharp wit, good-natured sense of humor, she was kind and welcoming to everyone she met. She was quiet and reserved for the most part, but once you got her out and comfortable, she loved the times she spent with her loved ones just talking and laughing with all. She loved animals, especially her dogs and the pets of all her children. She was considered "Grandma" even to all her fur babies.
Collette passed away in the late evening of March 7th, 2018 shortly after having expressed how happy and proud she was of her family. She always made sure they knew the deep and undying love she had for them.
