Carol Anderson

1934 ~ 2017

Carol Anderson passed away on July 16, 2017 at the age of 82. Carol was born September 7, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the fourth of five daughters of Edna Rigby Anderson and Glen Christensen Anderson (Andy). Carol spent much of her younger years in SLC, Utah, where she attended public schools and graduated from West High School. Carol graduated from the Universtiy of Utah in Elementary Education. She was affiliated with Tri Delt Sorority. Carol taught school for several years in California and Germany. She later moved into business and other Real Estate related roles.

Carol\s number one passion was music. She sang in many musicals, at church, weddings, funerals and just for fun. Her favorite times were spent harmonizing with others, whether it be formal groups, church solos, choir, or at most family gatherings, especially Christmas! She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions, including Ward Chorister for many years. She was strong in her faith. Carol was a proud member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP). She cherished her friendships and time with this awesome group of women.

Carol lived in Menlo Park, California for many years. She loved Mendocino, California where she went to weaving school and learned to make beautiful pillows and purses that her family and friends have enjoyed for years. One of her favorite places was Pajaro Dunes. Carol shared that love with her family by arranging many family reunions there.

Carol was predeceased by her parents Edna and Andy Anderson as well as her two sisters, Jean Nelson and Donna Stephens. She is survived by her sisters Marjory Anderson and Ruth South, six nephews and one niece.

Services will be held Thursday, August 3rd at 1pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, with interment to follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.LarkinMortuary.com
