David John Oldham

1931 ~ 2018

David John Oldham, Age 86 of Sandy, passed away on February 4, 2018 in Murray, Utah.

David John Oldham was born on May 15, 1931 to Harvey and Marian "Ollie" Oldham. He grew up in Sandy, Utah. He got married later in life to Irene Gilson and remained married until she passed away in 2012. Dave graduated from Jordan High School, then went on to get a degree in art; specializing in mountain landscapes and still life floral portraits. Dave valiantly served as a Marine in the military for 4 years and in the Army Reserve for another 8; after which he worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine for over 30 years. He served as an ordinance worker for nearly 20 years in the Riverton LDS temple. He had a love for the outdoors, gardening, and painting. He loved family outings in the mountains and down in Southern Utah. He taught painting classes at the Sandy Senior Center up until his death. David was a loving husband, step-father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

David is preceded in death by his spouse Irene, his parents, and 2 half-siblings.

He is survived by two appreciative stepdaughters,Linda and Sheri, four loving grandchildren and three bright eyed energetic great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held onFriday, February 16, 2018 at 2pmat Larkin Sunset Gardens,1950 East Dimple Dell Road(10600 South) in Sandy.A viewing for family and friends will be held onThursday, February 15 from 6-8pmandFridaymorning from12:30-1pmat the mortuary.
