Lia M. Clark passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born on May 30, 1943, in The Hague, Netherlands, to Elisabeth Bakker and Willem Marda, Lia was an adventurous soul with a positive attitude toward life! She immigrated to the United States when she was 13 years old and fell in love with her new country. She arrived in Utah and embraced the love of mountains, trees, and water in her soul.
Lia’s greatest passions were her family, animals and traveling the world with family and friends, creating cherished memories that spanned continents. Among her most treasured journeys were unforgettable trips to Africa and Antarctica, as well as a special visit to New York City and Niagara Falls with her daughters, Tamara and Suzanne.
At her core Lia believed in working hard, being open-minded and dependable. She organized her life, and indeed everything she touched, with care and a belief that doing it right was the only option. She loved music and especially enjoyed live concerts and productions.
Lia also had a profound love for all animals. A dedicated supporter of animal welfare, she generously donated to charities dedicated to helping animals throughout her life.
Lia is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tamara (Seaton) and Suzanne (Brad), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews, and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willem and Elisabeth Marda, and her brother Will.
Lia’s vibrant spirit, adventurous heart, unwavering love for her family and compassion for animals will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
We love you Mom and we will remember all of the love, laughs, and adventures you shared with all of us!
