Liliana Elsa Ruiz Riboldi, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on May 14th, 2025.

Liliana was born in Rosario, Argentina, on March 20th, 1943, to devoted parents who preceded her in death. Her life was marked by a deep love of learning and a vibrant curiosity about the world. As a young woman, she had the opportunity to spend her senior year of high school as a foreign exchange student in San Leandro, California. There, she was introduced to The Book of Mormon, a sacred text that would change the course of her life. Upon returning to Argentina, Liliana read The Book of Mormon and received a powerful witness of its truth. She was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and never looked back.

Liliana later married Juan Pablo Riboldi, and together, they raised their family in faith and love. In 1983 they were sealed as a family in the Brazil temple for eternity. They eventually emigrated to Utah, where Liliana continued her passion for education, earning her doctorate in language pedagogy from the University of Utah. She dedicated her professional and personal life to helping others communicate, connect, and grow through language.

She was a devoted mother to her three children, Juan Manuel, Pablo José, and Silvina Beatriz Niccum. Her nurturing love extended to her 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren—with two more on the way—each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Liliana’s life was a symphony of love for music, art, and flowers. Her artwork reflected the beauty she saw in the world and the people she served. She was a faithful member of the Church, serving in various callings with humility and grace. Her testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith, education, and love.

She is now reunited with her dear husband and her parents. Though her passing brings sorrow, her life continues to inspire all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on May 30th, 2025, at the LDS ward house on 1260 South 400 West, Orem, Utah 84068.

For those unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to join via Zoom. Please click on the Watch Service button above.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to the Perpetual Education Fund or another cause close to your heart in honor of Liliana’s lifelong love of learning.
