I have such good memories from living next door to Linda on Boothill Drive. During that time, Linda came to England with me to visit my parents. We had purchased matching track suits. On a shopping trip to Worcester, the clerk asked where we were from. When we told him, he asked if the tracksuits were a uniform worn by LDS women?? I couldn't have asked for a better friend. I offer her family my sincere sympathies.

Obituary
Linda Ann Geertsen, 82, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on September 22, 2026. She carried a gentle warmth throughout her life, and that light continues on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She was born on February 18, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arthur K. Silfvast and Elvera Yancey, the oldest of two children. She married her high school sweetheart, John Robert (Bob) Geertsen, on March 16, 1962.
Throughout her childhood, Linda loved figure skating and spending time with her cousins—whether at the ranch in Wyoming or visiting family in Idaho. Growing up, she held her mother, Elvera, and brother, David, close to her heart with deep love, early examples of the devotion she would later extend to her own family and to all those she cherished.
Linda graduated from South High School and soon began building a family with Bob. Together they raised seven children. She devoted her life to creating a loving home, offering unconditional love and support to her children and to her husband, who loved her dearly.
Mom loved traveling with her family. Always eager to experience new places, she soaked in every moment of each adventure. From Europe to Hawaii to the Caribbean, every trip became a treasured memory.
Linda will always be remembered for her sacrifice and selflessness, helping anyone in need with fierce compassion. She trained as a birthing assistant and supported her daughters, nieces, and friends as they welcomed their precious babies into the world. She was a talented artist, pianist, and florist, among many other creative gifts. Her beautiful oil paintings and handmade creations will forever be treasured. Linda loved decorating and gardening, always making her home a special place for her family. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and the magic she created will never be forgotten—her applesauce cake, her beautifully wrapped gifts, and the immense love she poured into every celebration.
After facing the challenges of declining health in her later years, her physical struggles have ended, and she is embraced by lasting peace. Her love of the gospel filled her heart and soul, and she now rejoices with her precious loved ones on the other side.
Linda is survived by her children Diana, Becky (Jeff), Robert (Heather), Tim (Anna), Bonnie, Tom, and Ben (Sarah); 18 grandchildren; and seven great‑grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Silfvast, and her beloved husband, Bob.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, at 11:30 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary Downtown, 260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City. Viewings will be held at the same location on Sunday, September 27, from 6–8 p.m., and again prior to services from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Park in West Valley City.

Tributes
So sorry to hear of this loss. I have many fond memories of Linda. She was always so welcoming and caring. Boothill Dr will never be the same. She will be greatly missed.
Linda Ann, Bob, and their children were always very special and close friends to our family. Bob was the brother to Ron's aunt by marriage, Joan Wood, and we were included in family outings and gatherings with Bob and Linda's immediate and extended family members. Linda was always extremely caring and thoughtful to our family in so very many different ways. We all love her very dearly!!
My grandma was the sweetest lady in the world. I'll always miss the way she would hold me tight, always made me feel so important and loved, like royalty. I don't live close by so whenever I got to see her it was a special occasion. I think the excitement to see each other was always mutual. We had a lot in common and I'll think of her everytime I crochet.
