Linda Lee Gorringe passed away peacefully the night of April 6, 2026. She was born Linda Fagg on November 8, 1940, to her parents Willard and Naomi Fagg. She attended South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met her future husband Wayne Joseph Gorringe. Linda was a skilled and talented seamstress in high school, but the true gift she shared with others was her care and kindness. She built deep and lasting relationships with those she loved and continued meeting with her “Club” friends from high school through her final months and years.
Wayne and Linda were married on August 5, 1960. Together they raised four children Jeff, Scott, Mark, and Jill. Linda supported her family at home through the early years of her marriage. After raising her children she became an active member of the business community at such places as Ballstead Construction and OC Tanner. Eventually she helped Wayne found The Brighton Title Company where she worked as office manager.
Linda’s impact on the world around her cannot be measured by accolades or achievements. Her greatest triumph lies in the indelible imprint she left on the hearts of all she met. Her love, kindness and generosity were given to both friend and stranger, and she continued to build meaningful relationships well into her later years. One of her greatest joys was supporting her many grand- and great-grandchildren’s sporting events or extracurricular activities. She was an ever-present fixture and her attendance was looked forward to not only by her own family but also their peers and their families, many of whom became lasting friends with Linda. She was proud to be Grandma to far more than her immediate family and those who called her Grandma were treasured and held a special place in her heart.
Beyond her devotion as a mother and grandmother she loved to shop – especially for shoes. She had standing appointments to get her hair and nails done and quite literally nothing would stop her from making them. She loved family trips and planning Christmas parties and made every holiday event special by her involvement. She loved taking drives with her kids – and particularly going out to the airport to watch planes. She loved Little America’s Coffee Shop, Maddox and family dinners at The Spaghetti Factory.
She loved being generous. She was generous with her time, generous with her attention, and generous with her kindness. She was generous with her emergency can of whipped cream – safely tucked in her purse. Most importantly she was generous with her love. Linda will always be with us, her presence reflected in the acts of caring, kindness, generosity, and love that we show to others.
In death Linda is to be reunited with husband Wayne Joseph Gorringe, parents Naomi and Willard Fagg, brother Mike Fagg and his wife Sandy, great-grandson Wayne Dean-Franklin Gorringe and many more beloved aunts, uncles, and friends. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 10, from 10:00-10:45 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S) in Sandy, followed by a graveside service at the same location. An open house celebration of Linda’s life will take place afterwards from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM at The Chateau at Le Jardin, 1910 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S) in Sandy.
