Richard C. Skeen

1942 ~ 2014

Richard Caldwell Skeen died peacefully at home in Draper, Utah on December 14, 2014. He was born on May 7, 1942 to Edwin Jedediah and Hazel Caldwell Skeen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Judith Ann Appell on June 26, 1965 in Galva, Illinois. They are the parents of six children: Gwendolyn (Scott) McMillin, Richard (Kimberly) Skeen, Michael (Julie) Skeen, Theodore (Anne Lin) Skeen, Amber (Radu) Alexandru, and Timothy (Jennifer) Skeen. They have nine grandchildren: Kaci McMillin, Clayton Skeen, Trevor Skeen, Tyler Skeen, Erin Skeen, Jack Skeen, Theodore L. Skeen, Elizabeth Alexandru, and Allison Skeen.

Richard graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in accounting and an MBA. He received his JD degree from The Ohio State University Law School. He practiced law in Utah and was a partner in three law firms: Skeen and Skeen, Van Cott Bagley, and Stoel Rives. He served as a Captain in the US Army.

Richard had a great sense of humor and always made people smile. He was the ultimate family man and really enjoyed time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved playing golf and spending time on the beach in San Diego. He was a loyal fan of the University of Utah basketball and football programs and The Ohio State University football program.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South. Salt Lake City, UT. Golf attire requested.
