With great sadness, we announce the passing on September 14, 2016 of Robert (Bob) Weiner, beloved husband of Wendy Liljenquist-Weiner, devoted father of Sharon (Henry) Hentzman and Kevin (Karen) Weiner and step father of Kristin and Jayson Liljenquist, loving brother in law of Glenn Spivak, loving brother of the late Arnold Weiner and the late Marilyn Spivak, cherished son of the late Norman and Minnie Weiner, adored grandfather of Meghan and Taylor Hentzman, Brooke and Brett Weiner.
Bob was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 8, 1938 and continued to live in Baltimore for the next 53 years where he owned and operated Brooks Liquors during the heyday of Baltimore sports scene. He was always proud to be the choice of some of the legendary Colts and Orioles until he sold the store in 1977. Bob worked in sales as a manufacturer's representative until his untimely passing. Along the way, he met the love of his life Wendy, at a New York gift show in 1990. They married in Deer Valley in 1996.
Bob was proud of his Jewish heritage and was very knowledgeable about the history of the Jewish people and religion in general. He was accepting of other's beliefs and was proud to be a greeter at the Willow Creek 1st Ward in support of his wife Wendy.
He loved his new family in Utah as if they were his flesh and blood. Bob loved to tell jokes and was often the life of the party. His best friend was Jim Jorgensen and held their friendship close to his heart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held from 1:00 ‚ 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
