Lois Jean Nash, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt peacefully passed away on September 26, 2023 at the age of 89. Lois was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having held many callings throughout her life. A passionate genealogist and family historian, she served for over 40 years in family history training and leadership roles locally and regionally.

A talented musician, teacher and speaker, she loved sharing a testimony born of remarkable spiritual experiences, study and prayer. Married in 1953, and never willing to give up on her goal, she was sealed in the temple to her husband and children in April, 1978. Of her many loves, her family always came first. Guiding with a loving hand, she was the glue that held and still holds the family close together. She was dedicated to building an eternal family and raising her three sons to be hard working and loving husbands and fathers. She dearly loves her children and each grandchild, whose birthdays and special occasions she never missed.

She loved life to the fullest, including playing the piano, painting, skiing, golfing, horseback riding, the out of doors and family history.

Lois served selflessly and contributed to the beauty of life in countless ways. As an accomplished pianist, Lois was invited to perform the Warsaw Concerto as a freshman with the BYU philharmonic orchestra. To strengthen families, she developed and managed the children’s Snoopy Ski School program at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort as a certified ski instructor. She and her husband, Bill, built a program to transport and teach young skiers of all ages from Preston to Logan each week during the ski season. As a skilled genealogist of over 40 years, Lois touched the lives of over 30,000 souls in her unparalleled service. She greatly loved and was beloved.

As the youngest child in her immediate family, she was the last of the great generation. She had many dear friends in her hometown of Preston, Idaho as well as many newfound friends in Draper, Utah. She cherished her relationships with all of them. She will be sorely missed by everyone, but has eagerly awaited joining her beloved husband and countless others as she returns to her heavenly home.

Survived by three sons Steven (Vivian), Kelly (Karen) and Robert (Sheri), fifteen grand children and thirty great grand children.

Preceded in death by her husband William, her parents John and Jessie Meyers, sisters Shirley Meyers, Elizabeth (Luther) Boyd, Vera (Dan) Howarth, Barbara (Charlie) Martin and brother
John (Sara) Meyers.

Guestbook/Condolences

Dear Kelly and family,
What a beautiful tribute to an amazing lady! It was so fun to get to know her better! Now we know why her three sons are incredible men, themselves. Each of your memories were priceless! Love you and your sweet family! My mother died Oct 21, 2022 at 90 and I still miss her. Now that I know she is in heaven, I'm not afraid of death. I loved the scripture 2Ne 32:3. Yes, she will be with you and how fun that she actually talked about how she would connect with you and her way of communicating. It is real! Love your family, soo much!
