Gone From My Sight
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

The world lost a beloved mother, sister, and wife Lora Beedie, on January 20, 2022. Lora was taken from this world unexpectedly at the age of 63.
Lora was born to the late Betty and Denver Pritt on May 15, 1958, in Charlottesville, West Virginia. She was married to Michael Beedie in 1991 and gave birth to two daughters. The family moved several times but landed in Utah in 2003. Lora is survived by her two daughters Anne and Ellen, her spouse Michael, and sister Cora.
Lora was a reverent kind person with a wicked sense of humor. Her sense of humor lives on in both her daughters. She spent 20+ years with Delta Air Lines and loved every bit of it and traveled all over as a result. Lora was immensely proud of her daughters and their accomplishments and would crow to anyone who would lend a listening ear. She leaves behind laughter and beautiful memories.
We as the family are forever grateful for the light you shared with us. You will never be forgotten as you will live on with all of us. May your candle never dim or burnout.
Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye on Friday February 4, 2022, at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, UT. The family will have a private burial for Lora per her wishes.

I am so devastated with your/our loss.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lora so very deeply. She and I connected right away when I started working at HQY. She is like a soul sister. We had so many laughs and nice memories. We wanted to drive Rte 66 when we retired and take a Delta trip on her mileage to meet her sister. She supplied my family with hand sanitizer and earbuds for our Japan trip.
She was always willing to help everyone and anyone who need it.
I am not sure how to handle not having her advice and cheerleading for me in my life. My heart is broken.
She will be watching out for us all from another place.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Lora in person, but, having worked with her husband, Michael Beedie, for many years, I feel like I got to know her through him as Michael's love for her frequently came through in conversation. While this is a heartbreaking loss for an incredible family, I know they have the support and love from so many family and friends. Love to you Beedie and your daughters!
