It is with extremely heavy hearts that we inform you that our mother and your friend, Lynne Helen Nuttall, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 78 years old.

Lynne has been a resident of the Salt Lake City area since moving here in 1969. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tony, and her two sons and their wives: John and Stephanie Nuttall of Baker City, Oregon, and Rick Nuttall and Ann Daniels of Sandy, Utah. She is also survived by her grandchildren – Jayden Nuttall, Finn Nuttall, Four Walker, and Caleb Nuttall.

Lynne was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 2, 1945 to Frank and Helen Gable. Growing up, she loved spending time with her cousins on the shores at Rocky Point, Long Island. She also loved visiting family in New Jersey. On one of these visits, Lynne met Tony at a BBQ when he and his friend had become lost while driving through the area. After talking for a while, they realized they had a strong connection and exchanged names and phone numbers. Years later, Lynne was transferred with her job. Initially, she’d been expecting to go to Las Vegas, but plans changed, and she was relocated to Salt Lake City. When Lynne knew her destination would be Utah, she contacted Tony, who was living in Provo. She asked him to help her with the move. They reconnected, and on May 1, 1970, they were married. Nearly a year later, they were blessed with their first son, John. Seven years later, they welcomed another son, Richard, into their family.

While John was attending Christ Lutheran School, Lynne and her family met the Bereshnyis, Tony, Jean, Chris, and Natalie. While everyone she met became close friends, she became especially close to the Bereshnyis, whom she embraced as family, considering Chris and Natalie as an additional son and daughter.

Lynne always enjoyed helping others, as evidenced by her volunteer work at LDS Hospital, Christ Lutheran Church and School, and other organizations. She loved spending time with all of her family. Some of her favorite things to do were enjoying a good meal, visiting, and reminiscing. Her favorite was playing Mexican Train Dominoes for hours, always being the first to throw money in the kitty and providing the booby prize.

Lynne also loved going to events at the Senior Center. She loved playing Bingo and going on trips to Wendover–where she was usually extremely lucky! For the last few years, she couldn’t spend as much time doing these things she loved, as she was so devoted to caring for her husband, Tony.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at 11:00 AM with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, UT. Interment to follow services.
