I was born on Sunday, March 4th in 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was the youngest of four daughters born to Melva and Donald Stockman. I passed away on Friday, July 21st of 2023 in my home in South Jordan, Utah.

After graduating from high school in 1980 I attended Ricks College. I graduated from there with an Associates Degree in Social Sciences in 1982. I then attended Brigham Young University for one year before leaving to serve in the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from May of 1983 to November of 1984. After completing an honorable mission I returned to BYU in 1986. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.

I immediately started working for the State of Utah Department of Human Services. I worked there for 10 years before having to go on disability because of insurmountable health problems.

I was born with a genetic birth defect known as Neurofibromatosis Type 1. This defect caused fibrous tumors to grow on the nerves both on the inside and outside of my body; which could be extremely painful. My mother Melva helped me and stood by me through my multiple surgeries during my lifetime. I also believe my Heavenly Father and Savior always stood beside me during my lifetime through these trials.

I was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had a strong testimony of the reality of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I had a testimony of the Book of Mormon, the Prophet Joseph Smith and the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I loved serving as an ordinance worker in both the Provo and Jordan River temples.

I am preceded in death by my parents and my oldest sister Jean McGean. I am survived by my sisters Suzanne (Douglas) Gull and Gail (Mark) Bown; four nieces and four nephews; grand nieces and nephews.

My viewing will be held on Monday, July 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy. My funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior to services also LDS church building located at 9750 S. 2200 W., South Jordan.

Hey Lynne my friend! We sure had a great time talking and remembering our missions in Harrisburg together. And just discussing the miracles each of us have received in regard to our health. The Spirit was present a lot of the times we were together right?! It was my privilege to have the opportunity getting to know you over the last year. I pray to know you in the Eternities; that I will be faithful enough. I am happy that you are pain free, have a perfect body now and are doing the Lord's work on the other side of the Vail. Enjoy the reunion with your family and friends who have passed before, then get to work. I love you my friend!

I'm sorry for our loss of our neighbor and friend, Lynne. She was friendly and easy to visit with. I always enjoyed her testimony and felt her spiritual strength radiate from her. She will be missed. I know she was met with open arms and an abundance of love up from our Savior and her loved ones that have gone before. God bless!

Lynne, I miss you already! I’m so blessed to get to know you. I’m sorry I didn’t meet you earlier in life, however, we are forever friends. You have a passion for life and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your desire to help others is great; that was shown in your sweet service in the Temple. There’s nothing better than serving Heavenly Father’s children, whether friends, family, or through the Temple. Your kindness to Michelle and me was wonderful. We both enjoyed your friendship and being with you. It will be so sweet when we meet again in heaven. I’m sure the Lord is keeping you busy helping others. I love you deeply and forever. ‘Til then. ♥️♥️♥️

We loved Lynne so much! We met her while serving at the U Of U Branch at the hospital. We were so blessed to have gotten to know her and who she is about. What a beautiful, righteous good woman. We are sure she is enjoying her wonderful reunion with her mother, and those who have been waiting for her in heaven. We wish you and your family comfort and peace at this time.
