Beverly Joan McCormick Gamble

1934 ~ 2017

Beverly Joan McCormick Gamble, 83, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 26, 2017 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Midvale, Utah to Melvin Eli McCormick and Lois Lorene Turner McCormick. Joan married Melvin Jay Gamble on September 24, 1954 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they have five children.

Joan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Her favorite was working in the Young Women where she served for 20 years. Joan served three missions, a stake mission, a service mission to the Bishop's Storehouse, and a full-time mission with her sweetheart Mel to the Washington D.C. North Temple Visitor Center.

Joan was employed by LDS Business College, Brigham Young University, and Jordan School District for a total of 25 years, and Canyons School District for 10 years.

Joan is survived by her husband Melvin Jay Gamble of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; her sons, Scott (Diane) Gamble of Vail, Arizona, and Todd Gamble of West Jordan, Utah; her daughters, Teri (Scott) Hodgkinson of West Jordan, Utah, Angela (Wayne) Jackman of Sandy, Utah, and Melanie (Darrell) Zaugg of Chugiak, Alaska. She was dearly loved by 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marian Jackson of Provo, Utah, and her brother Don McCormick of Morgan, Utah.

Joan was proceeded in death by her parents; her brothers Henry McCormick, Gene McCormick, Reid McCormick; and her sisters Barbara Denney and Elaine Smart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Butler 7th Ward LDS Chapel located at 1355 East 7200 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm, and Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 10:30 ‚ 11:30 am at the same location. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah.
