Inge O Olsen

1919 ~ 2014

Inge Olsen was born October 10, 1919 in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Emil and Karen Olsen. She married Gustav Olsen December 4, 1938 in Hellerup, Denmark. In 1956 after their conversion to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Inge was a loving wife and companion to her husband Gustav Olsen who passed away in June of 1999. The two traveled many times to their homeland, where nieces, nephews, and other family members still reside.

Devoted to the LDS Church, they went on a mission to Nauvoo as a couple from 1981-1982. They spent time working in the genealogy department at SLC church office building. Inge loved volunteering at This Is The Place Monument, dressed in her Danish costume and relaying to visitors her experience of coming to America as a modern-day pioneer. She had a generous spirit and exuded love, drawing people to her.

More than anything, Inge loved her children and their families. Frequent road trips to California and Washington armed with her \"Danish pancake pan and spatula\" are fond memories for all the grandchildren.

A love of nature\s beauty was an innate part of Inge, which included picnics in the mountains and watching sunsets wherever she lived.

She passed away at the base of the mountains in Alpine, Utah on July 14, 2014. Her last few years were spent at River Meadows Senior Living where she had a huge family of employees, friends, and residents.

Inge had 5 children, two of which preceded her in death namely Steen Olsen and Kristine Olsen. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Jette and Donald Laws of California, Annemette Olsen and Norman Delwiche of Washington and Dorte and Lynn Anderson of Utah, along with 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
