Shirley Schaaf Fisher Samuelson passed away at home December 28, 2014. Born September 6, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to August Carl and Josephine Swenson Schaaf. Married Donald H. Fisher, later divorced. Married Stanford E. Samuelson, who preceded her in death May 25, 1981.
Shirley attended schools in Taylorsville and Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School, and attended the University of Utah. She excelled with short hand and the comptometer calculator. She was a Den Mother when her sons were in Cub Scouts and worked with her husband as a bookkeeper and sales clerk at the Samuelson Art Store in Salt Lake City.
Shirley is survived by her sons James D. and Richard David Fisher, Salt Lake City, UT; R. Dale Fisher, San Francisco, CA; step daughters, Claudia (Kendall) Tholstrom, Midway, UT and Christina Simpson, Blackfoot, ID; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and ‘N' Street. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the graveside at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple.
