Jesus Rivera, age 90, passed away on January 16, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jesus was born on October 26, 1927 in Tepechitlan, Zacatecas, Mexico to Merced Rivera and Guadalupe Rodriguez. He was married in Mexico. He worked on various jobs including working with the rail roads, working as a fire fighter, working on a farm, and in casinos.
He was a family man who dedicated time to his wife and kids. Jesus worked daily to support his 4 kids. He wanted to make a man and woman out of each of his children. Now as adults, we remember him as the good dad that he was.
Jesus liked horseback riding, farming, fishing, and taking vacations as much as possible. He enjoyed playing casino slots until the last day of his good health.
Jesus is survived by his children: Ramon, Beatriz, Maria, Emilio, Cuca, Manuel, Margarita, Samuel, Martin, Cruz and Adela; 40 + grandkids and his wife Teresa Orozco.
Preceded in death by his children: Angel, Teresita, Melesio and Julia.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 257 N. 700 W., SLC UT. Viewings will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 pm (Rosary beginning at 7) at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC UT and on Friday, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
