Cora Mariepassed away March 10, 2017 in Parker, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. She was the eldest of ten children born toClarence Raymond and Ruby Francis (Lease) Carlson. Cora Marie began her life in Stronghurst, Illinois, where she loved school, singing, participating in cheerleading, and playing her accordion with her sister Alice. These two even had the opportunity to play on the local radio station. Cora MarieMarried Louis Arnold and they had three Children, Daniel Ray, Sherrill Lou, and Vincent Howard who resided in Orem, Utah.
In 1963 Cora Marie married Robert Vaughn Watson from Heber City, Utah, and together theyhad five children, Patricia, Kathleen,JoAnna Marie"Annie", Roberta Lynn, and Robert Clay. They raised their children in Littleton, Colorado, untilher husband\s death in1986.Cora Marie then Married Glenn Jr. Johnsonand they resided happily in Midvale, Utah, for the better part of thirtyyears together. Cora\s husband passed away March 4, 2016.
Cora Marie was a homemaker, who enjoyed and excelled at gardening, canning, sewing and was an incredible cook. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting, but she did not just go along for the ride, she bagged her first deer when she was pregnant with her sixth child.
In October of 2014, Cora\s children brought her home to Colorado, as her health was failing and she needed constant care. Her daughter Kathleen cared for Cora in her home with support and help from all the siblings. This was a precious time where special bonds, memoriesand love were formed. Cora\schildren were able to have such a sweet ending to herjourney by having her so close, it made Cora\s passing something to be remembered and cherished.On the day Coraleft Utah for Colorado, she saw a blue bird out her kitchen window and she saidit was a sign that the blue bird of happiness had come to bless her on her new adventure. The symbol of the blue bird has become a link to Cora Marieby all her family.At Cora\s passing she was surrounded by family, with music playing and her children holding her hands and singing to her.
Cora is survived by children, Daniel Ray Arnold; Sherrill Lou McClure (husband, Brent); Vincent Howard Arnold (wife, Anna); Patricia Worthington (husband, Robert); Kathleen Wood (husband, Charles); Annie Marie Perez (husband, Michael); Roberta Lynn Rickett (husband, Steve) and Robert Clay Watson (wife, Jill); 29Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren; step-children, Kelly Johnson; G. Michael Johnson (wife, Debbie); Sandy Rushton (husband, Hal) and Jay Johnson; as well as numerousgrandchildren and a great-grandchild from the Johnson family.
A viewing will be held in Colorado on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, from 6:00-8:00pm, at the Heartlight Center, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, Colorado 80014. (The Heartlight Center shares the parking lot with Horan and McConaty Funeral Home.)
A viewing will be held in Utah on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 9:00-11:00am, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah 84092, followed by a Graveside service at 11:00am.
