Madolin Adele Fitzgerald

1941 ~ 2023

Madolin Adele Fitzgerald “Lin” passed away Sunday September 3, 2023.

Lin was born in Draper Utah on February 3, 1941 to Norman and Madolin Fitzgerald. Sister to Norman, Doris, Barbara, Barney, Betty Joan, Sandra, Cheryl, and Kim. Lin grew up in Draper and it bothered her how they had “ruined” it. She liked working on the farm and spent summers thinning sugar beets. She liked to explain about the tool she used and what sugar beets looked like. She started playing softball with the county rec at 15. Lin played second base for many years and was a loyal teammate. Lin worked for Salt Lake Water Department for 32 years serving as Sewer Service Administrator. Lin had many loves including Mexican food, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the East Millcreek 2nd Ward, her dogs Peaches and Rosie, fancy socks, cars, tomatoes, (planting, picking & canning) the TV show Heartland, the Nelson family campout, talking with the birds and squirrels in her yard, opera, musicals, and holidays.

She is survived by her best lady buddy Connie Nelson, sister Cheryl Alpuerto & many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 9th at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT. Visitation will begin at 12 PM at the graveside with a service following at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Salt Lake County Animal Shelter. For those unable to attend, services will be streamed via Zoom. Please click on the watch services link above.

Thank you to Canyon Hospice especially Lin’s nurse Marie Dinger, Cody, Tammy, Liz, Jasmin, Gohar, Tui and the CNAs at Legacy who cared for Lin.

Lin was a wonderful neighbor and friend. She was witty, kind hearted and a good friend to our family. I always enjoyed our many chats and the offer of a soft drink. We have missed both Lin and Connie in our neighborhood. Much love to our friend Connie and to Lin's family. We love you!
