  • Marcelino was born on January 5th 1966, in Leon, Guanajuato MX. He was a Son, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Boxing fan, Entrepreneur, Mentor, and Great friend. He lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1990 Marcelino Married Maricela Sanchez, in their hometown of Leon Guanajuato, Mexico shortly after they moved to California. The following years they had their first-born, Joshua Gutierrez, and two years later Uriel Gutierrez. They relocated to Salt Lake in 1995, and in 1997, Israel Gutierrez was born.

    As a teenager he started working in the fields of California. After moving to Utah he pursued a technical career path. Marcelino had a passion for his business, his family, and relationships. From mechanical to carpentry. He was a builder at heart. He was a great leader, partner and mentor to many people. Marcelino made a positive impact on all people he encountered in each phase of his life. He was always sure to carry a joke or two everywhere he went. His patience, persistence, and will to achieve was admirable. At 55 Marcelino was dedicated, driven and determined to accomplish Great things in his career. He loved what he did, and all his efforts were greatly admired by all.

    Marcelino was always a very creative, patient, loving, and hardworking person. He enjoyed Traveling and taking trips with the family. He also had a passion for planting. He had various plants, flowers, and fruit trees in and around his homes. He always enjoyed taking the time to water his garden. He took great care of his family and friends. He loved collecting his experiences, piece of mind, jokes, life memories, achievements and failures. He led by example and taught by experience.

    Rest in Peace

    Marcelino is survived by his loving wife Maricela; and their three boys, Joshua, Uriel, and Israel. He is preceded in death by his father, Isaias Gutierrez and his mother, Maria Gutierrez.

    A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Vigil service and recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 at 12:30pm at the Cathedral of the Madeline, 331 East South Temple. Committal service to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
