Margarete Bernstiel Stoss, also known as Margaret Bernstiel Stoss passed away on July 8, 2025. She was 96 years old. Margaret was born April 23, 1929 in Germany, and came to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1953. She received her Naturalization Citizenship in 1959. She worked as the Manager of the exclusive Town Club for Women, where she retired. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she taught early in life Sunday school and Primary. Until her passing she attended church on Sunday, and went to the Temple monthly with the help of family. She lived in her home for over 65 years. Margaret continued to live there independently after her husband Otto's passing in 2020, with the help of family and friends. Many times you could catch her cleaning her home, baking, or working in her garden.
Anyone that knew Margaret remembers her quick wit, sparkling eyes, so many wonderful stories, her youthful spirit, and loving heart. She truly was an incredible, amazing lady, and will be missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otto Max Stoss of 70 years. Her mother Frieda, father Walter, sister Lucy, brother Walter, granddaughter Tiffany, grandson's Joshua and Nathan. She is survived by her son Ronald Stoss (Diane), daughter Rita Adams (Stan), sister Elka (Morris), granddaughter's Holly, PJ (Nick), and Danyelle (Jason). She had 7 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
The family is asking for privacy during this time. Please do not send flowers; plant a tree, or go out to lunch to enjoy your many wonderful memories of Margaret.
