Marian Beth Cook, 64, our dearly beloved mother and friend, died in her home in Holladay, Utah the evening of May 26, 2025 of complications resulting from a 28 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Marian was born on May 9, 1961 in California to Gary and Beth Huntington. Growing up in California, Idaho, and Washington with her three brothers Joe, Doug, and Paul the family settled in Salt Lake City in 1976. Marian attended East High and then Stevens-Henager College graduating top of her class. She was a secretary and office manager for over 15 years.

While at East High Marian met Howard Cook whom she married in 1978 and they had two boys, Adam in 1979 and Geoffrey in 1982. She was a devoted mother who loved her boys deeply.

Marian loved the outdoors, especially camping in the desert with her friends and family whenever she could. She was always an avid reader and after MS took her mobility and sight she became hooked on audio books. She listened to literally thousands of books over the years and was always eager to give and receive book recommendations.

When Marian began needing more help her mother moved in and provided care and support for her for almost 20 years. After becoming bedbound, Beth and Geoff cared for all her needs and eventually she was put on hospice care in 2022. The nurses from Quality Home Health and Hospice took amazing care of Marian for over three years. Rachel, Lily, Wendy, and Claudia became good friends and their love and kindness was felt daily.

Marian is survived by her son Geoff; mother Beth Huntington; brothers Doug (Wendie) Huntington and Paul Huntington; nephew Hunter and niece Jentry; and aunt Laura Dixon.

She is preceded in death by her son Adam; father Gary Huntington; brother Joe Huntington; niece Sierra Huntington; grandparents Joe and Rose Dixon, and Ross and Jane Huntington.

There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
