Marie Larkin Birky, 94, passed away at her home on June 16, 2026 from causes incident to age.
Marie was born April 26, 1932 in Fielding, Utah to Reed Larkin and Uarda Garn. Her childhood was spent in Snowville, Utah with brothers Garn and Duane and sister Carole. They spent many happy years exploring, camping and farming.
Marie married Harold Birky and they shared 4 children: Calvin, Julie, Laurie and Scott. Marie was a faithful member of the LDS Church and held many callings over the years but visiting teaching was always her favorite and she never missed a monthly visit.
She loved to quilt and do hand work and was very talented, winning multiple awards for her beautiful quilts. She worked at the LDS hospital for many years and cherished her friendships there.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughters Linda and Julie and brothers, Garn and Duane Larkin . She is survived by: son Calvin, daughter Laurie, son Scott (Stacey), sister Carole and dear niece Tanya Hjorth, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00-1045 am.
Interment will take place at Snowville City Cemetery.

I'll miss my Friend! Sharing Chinese lunch together when she had her car serviced. Lunch at Little America, or lunch at her house. Working with her Real Estate needs and always staying in touch. I'm so happy to have her in my life and my heart.

Marie was a good example of so many things. I remember her epic gardens and her green thumb. She made me a beautiful quilt from some fabric my mother left when she died. It was so kind and became a treasured keepsake.
Marie was such a great neighbor and friend! She helped me out many times when I needed extra space to store food before large events, or needed a place for a family gathering. She loved to play games and do puzzles and I have many fond memories of chatting as we worked on a puzzle together. She also let me come practice playing songs on her piano each week before church, and was patient enough to listen to the same songs played over, and over again... Marie was always interested in how I and my family were doing, and I appreciated her genuine caring and friendship. She will be missed!!
