Surrounded by family Marilyn Kay Goble, age 80, left this earth to join her Lord and Savior. She was born on August 5,1942 to Harold and Leona Schlomer in Bloomington, Illinois. She had three brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Benson-Roanoke High School. In 1963 she graduated from Mennonite School of Nursing and pursued her passion for nursing.

Married William D. Goble on February 1, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke, Illinois. Together they had three children; Jennifer, Jill and Jeff. After stops in Okinawa, Orem, and Casper, WY the family settled in Cottonwood Heights in 1983 and that was home. She loved her mountain views.

Marilyn was a nurse at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Hospital for 18 years. She retired in 2005 so she could watch her grandbabies grow up. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with them and sometimes just hanging out with them. She was a life-time Lutheran and was devoted to Jesus.

She is survived by her loving husband William; her three children Jennifer (Tom) Pace, Jill Beadles, Jeff (Chelsea) Goble; and 9 grandchildren; also survived by brother Marvin (Alice) Schlomer in Strum, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by brothers Loren and Dennis Schlomer; and sister Karen Bryan.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 240 East 5600 South, Murray, Utah, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Following cremation interment will be at Larkin Sunset Garden,1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Huntsman Cancer Hospital or Christ Lutheran Church, Murray Utah.

Even in death Marilyn will be a beacon to her family.

I am very sad and sorry for the loss of this sweet lady.
She is my brother Tom’s wife Jen’s sweet Mother. I have never heard anything but Love and Admiration for Her. She was a woman who always greeted me with a smile the times I did see her.
My heart goes out to Bill, Jen and everyone whom knew and Loved her. This is a terrible loss to this world.
