She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry E. Curtis, her daughter, Susan Curtis, her grandson, Jason R. Curtis, and great grandsons, E.J. Curtis and Malcomb Hansen Blunt.
Marilyn is survived by her children Karen Blunt (Chad), Barbara Wheeler, Michael Curtis (Tamra), John Curtis (Torrie) ,and Robert Curtis (Monica); 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
We hold her in memory as a devoted, hard-working and loving matriarch. We revere her for the example of love, service, and sacrifice that she lived every day. She graduated from West High School and a year later, in 1954, she was sealed to Larry, her high school sweetheart and husband, in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared more than 70 years together.
Marilyn loved family, nature, and spending time four-wheeling, walking, and working in her yard. She was an avid supporter of BYU athletics and a dedicated member of the Cougar Club. You could say she was their number one fan, aficionado, devotee, enthusiast, fanatic, and groupie....following them world-wide. She faithfully served in many callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including as a temple worker in the Provo and Payson temples for over 25 years, and as a missionary with Larry in the Nauvoo, Illinois temple. She had a deep love of the Savior and for those around her. Her love for her family was often demonstrated in the good food and events she and Larry planned and prepared. They loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Mapleton 5th Ward Meetinghouse (825 E. Hawkes Rest Dr, Mapleton, Utah).
