Marion Leona Sinclair Bruner

1925 ~ 2022

Marion Leona Sinclair Bruner passed away January 27, 2022, at her long time residence in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born December 1, 1925 in Salt Lake City, to Jay Arthur Sinclair and Esther Maria Erickson. She outlived them and her two siblings, Rena Evelyn Sinclair Eicher and David Downing Sinclair.
Her 96 years included a part of her childhood living in a log cabin near Lamoille, Nevada, with a water pump outside. She was oblivious to the cold as they rode in a sleigh feeding the horses by throwing hay to them. Sometimes they had to roust a lot of snakes out of the cabin. She could hear the coyotes at night by the river.
Most of her childhood was in Park City. A favorite memory was her father, walking to the store, and bringing back multiple flavors of ice cream. Two other families with similarly aged children would go on outings with them. Before there was a reservoir, they would go to Smith and Morehouse where there were frogs hopping all over. When nearby Commissary Lake came into being, she would love to watch the rain showers advance across the surface.
She married Richard Oakley Bruner February 21, 1945 in Salt Lake City. Richard Passed Away in 1998. They have five children, James (MaryEllen), Howard (Deanne), Edward (Kathy), Susan, and Bruce (Rhonda). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed retiring from working (mostly in the banking industry) and continued her active lifestyle.
With family and friends, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling, skiing, golfing, tennis, hiking, birdwatching, and bowling. She also enjoyed reading and doing all kinds of puzzles. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
There will be no Funeral, Viewing, or Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tracy Aviary would be appreciated.
