Marjean "Mimi" Marshall

1949 ~ 2022

Anna Marjean “Mimi” Marshall went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She was born on November 24, 1949, to Rev. Warren D. and Marjorie H. Combs. After spending her childhood in Toppenish, WA, her family moved to Nampa, ID. It was there she met and married her best friend and love of her life Jack Marshall on August 18, 1979. Together they had four children: Michelle, Melynda, Melyssa and Byron and were given the gift of two bonus daughters: Keiko and Danielle and bonus son, Chris. She was the proud Mimi to six grandsons: Eric, Dustin, Jack, Declan, Beckham and Kallen.

In 1982, they moved to Salt Lake City where she was an active participant at Salt Lake Christian Center. Marjean played the piano and organ, sang in the choir, coordinated the church directory, worked with girls ministries, did the costumes for many church plays and organized countless church events.

Marjean knew no stranger and was a prayer warrior. She loved to create opportunities for friends to gather and fellowship together. She was always generous with her time, money and talents.

Marjean enjoyed camping, watching football, crafting, scrapbooking, hallmark movies, talking on the phone but most of all shopping.
She is survived by her husband Jack, her daughters Michelle Trombley (Chris) of Glenn Heights, TX, Melynda Marshall of Seattle, WA, Melyssa Marshall of Orlando, FL, her son Byron (Keiko) of South Weber, UT and her brother, Warren (Arnelle) Combs of Athens, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marjorie Combs, brothers, Larry Combs and Vernon Combs.

Marjean worked at the Salt Palace Convention center for 30+ years in the Finance Department as a Payroll Clerk. She greatly enjoyed her job and cherished the opportunity to help others. She considered fellow employees as not only her friends but her family. Many of her relationships were maintained after changes of employment and retirements.

Funeral for Marjean will be Friday July 22, 2022, at Salt Lake Christian Center (4300 S 700 E, Salt Lake City, UT) at 11:00 AM. Viewing 1 hour before the service. There will be a separate viewing Thursday, July 21st, 2022 from 5PM to 8PM at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT. Following the funeral services will be a burial/graveside service at Camp Williams.

Guestbook/Condolences

I heard about Marjean’s passing from my mom today. I am so sorry for your loss. Marjean was one of the special matriarchs in my life who led me to know about the Lord from practical, every day love and leadership through my time in missionettes.
I still remember “helping” her babysit Michelle and the twins when I was 5 and when she came to help us when we had an injury while my parents were away. She once gave me a little plastic window hanging that read, “To know me is to love me.” Marjean, that is the truth from all those celebrating your homecoming with the Lord. May your heart of love and service live on through your family.

Marjean and I were friends as kids and attended church camps together. Our parents were friends, and our families got together often when our dads were pastoring just a few miles apart. It was such a happy surprise to reconnect with her years later at Salt Lake Christian Center. Marjean was always a joy to be around and showed respect and kindness to every person. She was a genuine and faithful friend.

Marjene there’s no words to express how much you mean to all of us. The beautiful friendship that you had with so many everywhere you planted your feet. You are the world to my mother Linda Stamm, the friendship that will live on forever. The hours you willingly gave without going noticed ,blessed so many lives. I love that I have some Hilarious memories of times we spent together when I came to town and stayed in the apartment. Although are hearts ache and you are missed we will see you again one day! ❤️

Jack, Thor and I were so sorry to hear of Marjean's passing on to heaven. Not sorry for her because what more could we want but to be with Jesus? But so sorry for you and your family. We all will miss her, but your loss is unspeakable. Our prayers are with you. Love, Thor and Leslie Johnson

What a beautiful tribute to Marjean and her life of love and service to others. I met Marjean as the kindergarten teacher of Melynda, Melyssa, and Byron. A friendship developed and continued to grow over all these past years. If you look up the word "genuine" in the dictionary, you will (or should) see Marjean's photo. I will miss you, my friend. My heart and prayers are with Jack, the children & grandchildren, and all who had the blessing of knowing Marjean. I am so sorry for the empty spaces Marjean's passing leaves in your lives. Fly high my friend. I know you have been welcomed into God's Holy presence. One day, we will meet again.

I will always remember Marjean as a fun loving friend and a great example of Christian living. She was a talented musician and Bill and I felt blessed to have her play the organ for our wedding 50 years ago. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to your family as you deal with the short term separation knowing you will be reunited in heaven someday.

Jack, I have so many memories of growing up and being "teens" together with Marjean at Nampa First Assembly of God. We sang together in so many different settings, it would be hard to recall them all. Her dad was my pastor during 13 of the most formative years of my life. We experienced so many things in music ministry that I will forever cherish. She was so talented and had a servant's heart.
My husband Bob and I want to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. We pray that God's unlimited grace, comfort, and Presence would be tangibly felt by you, your family, and all those who knew and loved Marjean.
How sweet it is to know that one day we will all be reunited in Heaven.
