Marjorie Griggs (Saylor) Medley

Marjorie Griggs (Saylor) Medley (95) was born March 14, 1926 and died March 8, 2022 in hospice care at her son Shaun’s house. She was the fourth of eight daughters and two sons born to Emily Boweter Griggs and Lawrence Price Griggs in Driggs, Idaho. She grew up in Driggs and graduated from Teton High School in May of 1944. During the summer of 1944 she helped the war effort by working for the Naval Supply in Utah. In Dec. of 1944, she enrolled in nurse’s training at the LDS hospital in SLC under the Cadet Nurses program. She married Fredrick (Ted) William Saylor Oct. 1947. She then graduated nurse’s school in Dec of 1947, and was an RN for forty years. To her union with Ted were born four boys and one girl. That marriage ended in divorce in 1967. Her second marriage was to Grover C. Medley Jr. in Feb. 1970, in the SLC LDS Temple. There were no children from that union.
She is preceded in death by both parents, five sisters, one brother, son Kent Griggs Saylor, grand children Chad Elliott Saylor, Strett Conrad Saylor, and both husbands. She is survived by sons Eric Jerome (Ann) Saylor, Marcus Conrad (Gwen) Saylor, Shaun William (Jane) Saylor, daughter Suzanne Saylor (Scott) Armstrong. two sisters, one brother, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Grover’s children, Kathy Major, Margaret Moss, Richard Medley and their families.
At her request cremation has taken place. Services and internment will take place at a later date to be announced.
