Mark James Snyder passed away on October 15, 2023, peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.

Mark was the second of six kids and the first born of the twins, to James H Snyder and Marilyn Hofer Snyder. He grew up in Rose Park.

Mark has had a love of cars throughout growing up, and with his Dad, they restored a 1966 Mustang. He taught his boys all the ins and outs of cars. He was also very handy and taught them the DIY’s of home improvement. He learned all about computers, he helped build many computers for his family.

Mark worked in the title industry for 48 years and just recently retired in September. He met his sweetheart, Suzann, while they were both working at Guardian Title. They were married on June 29, 1979, and later sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on November 30, 1991. Mark and Suzann have raised four incredible men who have all inherited many wonderful traits from their father.

Mark was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was quiet and soft spoken. He was also a very kind and gentle man. He had great patience and was able to teach many throughout his life including his dealings at work.

He loved spending time with Suzann, they did everything together, and he loved spending time with family and especially all his grandchildren whom he loved so much. One of his greatest joys was watching their many achievements and being able to go to all their school and sports activities. You could find him at their games several times a week and on Saturdays. He also loved when we had tournaments to be able to take his whole family and spend time together.

He held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but being involved in the Scouting program was his favorite.

Survived by his wife Suzann, sons, Christopher, James (Chon), Matthew (Shellie), Samuel (Ashlee), seven grandchildren, Landon, Mylie, Mason, Grayson, Violet, Leighton, and Talon. Also, by his twin Mike (Sandy), brothers, Steve (Carol), Scott (Bonnie), two sisters, Wendy (Kurt) and Cindy. Many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Marilyn Hofer Snyder.

You have touched our lives for the better and have taught us so much to survive through life. Our time together was taken away too soon. We will miss you and we love you so much.

Our family would like to say a special “Thank you” to Hospice of Utah, Serena, Cheri and especially to Laura, Sarah and Jamie. All of you have a special talent for helping others and we are so grateful to each of you for your comfort and care of Mark and all of us in our time of need. Also, thank you to Dr. Scott Samuelson, Anne and the girls in the infusion center and to Dr. Gary Garner and Susan, you are the Best at what you do.

We’d like to also thank Larkin Mortuary for their kind and respectful care of our loved one.

I worked with Mark at Associated Title and First American Title and was happy to have known him as a co-worker and friend. He was always so helpful and patient with all of my questions. I hope you as his family are able to embrace all of the wonderful times you were able to share to help you through the hard times ahead.
