  • Mark W. Wilkerson, age 74, passed away on July 18, 2021 in Springville, UT. He was born June 4, 1947 to Robert Wilkerson and E. Loraine Jordan in Oklahoma City, OK. Mark was the oldest of 6 children. He was 4 years old when he came to Utah and was raised in Salt Lake City.

    When he was in 9th grade he met the love of his life, Esther Orlynn. At 18 he joined the Army. He gave all that he had and went to Vietnam. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Earning many awards, among them, were 4 bronze stars. While in Vietnam, he was exposed to Agent Orange. This led to a long battle with his health and ultimately his end.

    When he got home from the war, he married the love of his life Esther Orlynn, on August 13, 1968 in Salt Lake City, UT. Together they raised 3 boys into men. They have 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was a family man, doing everything and anything for his family. If there was a way he could help his family, he made it happen. His family was his life.

    Mark is survived by his wife Esther Orlynn; his 3 sons and their families: Tex (LaDawn) and their son Brandon (Kaylee); Jason (Sara) and their daughters Charlie (Mike)-4 children, Teresa (Joe)-3 children, Laura (Julian)-3 children; Toby and his children Camie, Garrett, Gracie, and Jake.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Marvin Wilkerson and Roger Wilkerson, 1 sister Debbie Wilkerson, his granddaughter Brittany Dawn Wilkerson and many other family members.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd., Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held prior to services from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm.

    Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

    Sara, Jason and Orlyn, we are so sorry about Marks passing. He was a good father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.
    Our comfort lies in the gospel and the promise of reuniting with loved ones on the other side.
