Marsha Ann Collins

1949 ~ 2023

Obituary Photo for Marsha Ann Collins < >

Our sweet mother finished her journey in life sooner than anyone expected or would have wanted but she did so with the dignity and grace she lived her everyday life with.

She began her journey on January 19th, 1949, as the first of the 4 children born to Edwin and Opal Collins. Both Ed and Opal were waiting to welcome her to her next adventure in heaven on December 11th, 2023.

Marsha was a proud mother of the 5 children who along with their spouses will truly miss her: Cami and Scott, Staci and Tom, Holly and Rick, Pete and Chantelle, Erin and Brian. Marsha found her true identity as a grandmother; her grandkids, Callie (Josh) Bob, Michelle, AJ, Michael (Krysta), Zachary (Katherine), Tevin (Ally), Kiersten (Trey), Benjamin, Kim, Jayden, Alex, Skyler, Hunter, Ryan (Mikayla), Aaren and great grandchildren Charlette, Jase, Josh, Sophie, Mia, Ryan, Anna and Katie gave her life.

Marsha loved to travel and find adventures, especially with her grandchildren. Marsha’s goal was to travel to faraway places and explore different cultures, places and culinary oddities with each of them.

Never one to sit still for long, Marsha was a very active member in her church where she served in positions from the relief society presidency to visiting teacher, but she favored the work she did with the primary children most of all.

Marsha lit up at the sight of little ones and loved to watch them grow. After retiring she began working with elementary kids to help those who were in need of special assistance.

Marsha had a special talent for arts and crafts and was an amazing seamstress… she created many wedding dresses and christening gowns. She loved researching her ancestry and was a friend to any animal; her home always included at least two of each type. She has left behind 2 parrots and 2 cats that will also miss her greatly.

Although she left us too soon, her mark has been made in many ways and she will forever remain in the hearts of so many generations. Marsha was truly loved.

Marsha’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16th at 1 pm at the Oquirrh 4th Ward located at 5208 Cyclamen Way, West Jordan, UT 84081. Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am – 12:45 pm prior to the service. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Lawn. Marsha, I miss you so much, just knowing I can't call you or run into you at the craft store. Is hard. Losing Toni this year and now you, it leaves. Peggy and me. We could talk about anything and everything no matter how much time past. Missed our Christmas dinner. I love you.

Marsha was our son's primary teacher. He was a difficult little Sunbeam. He was one of the youngest Sunbeams and he was a handful. He was so difficult we decided we were going to pull him out of primary and home-primary him. Marsh brought over cookies to our house on Valentine's just for him. It made him feel so loved and made a huge difference for him, and we kept him in primary. Who knows what would have happened to our family if we'd quit going to church. Marsha is one of those unsung heroes that makes a huge difference in people's lives through small but crucial acts of service. We will miss her ready smile and quick wit. I love her so much!
