Mary Beckstead Rindlisbacher Jensen

1940 ~ 2023

Mary Beckstead Rindlisbacher Jensen, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on August 3rd, 2023, in South Jordan, UT, after struggling with dementia.

She was born July 22nd, 1940, in Murray, UT., daughter of Edward B. and Mary Ellen Beckstead. After four sons, she was the light of her parents’ lives. She was raised in Riverton on their family farm and graduated from Jordan High School in 1958. Following high school, she attended comptometer school.

Mary married the love of her life, Harold “Hal” Rindlisbacher on February 26th, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple. Mary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Primary president among numerous other callings. She served in the Jordan River Temple for 13 years. Her family remembers her as someone who was always studying the gospel, frequently reading the Ensign cover to cover each month along with her daily scripture study. She loved to take notes and always kept papers with quotes and scriptures she liked. Mary and Hal served a mission at the University of Arizona Institute in Tucson, AZ. They loved Tucson so much, following their mission they built a home and moved there permanently.

Mary enjoyed dancing and music, especially the beautiful music Hal would play as a musician. The two of them loved to travel and visited many places both with the bands Hal taught as a school teacher and with the travel company they founded together called Celestial Tours. Mary also enjoyed walking and walked nearly every day for 40 years.

After losing Hal in 2002, she met Bruce Jensen, and they married on June 18th, 2005. She moved with Bruce to Vista, CA where they managed a senior living community. Here Mary made many friends and loved staying busy with activities.

Mary will always hold a special place in the hearts of many people and will be greatly missed.
