MELINDA Louise Hansen (née Hanline), known affectionately as Mindy, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, in South Jordan, Utah, at the age of 63. Born on September 4, 1960, in Brigham City, Utah, she grew up to be a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who knew her.
Mindy graduated from Davis High and furthered her education at Weber State University, graduating with Honors. She dedicated herself to nurturing young minds and hearts, first working as an instructor at Mountain Fuel Supply and American Express, before finding her true calling as a kindergarten teacher. Beyond her professional endeavors, Mindy often expressed that her greatest roles were being a devoted mother to her sons, Paul Brian and Michael Alan, and a loving partner to her husband, Paul.
Mindy's life was a testament to her love for her family and her passion for education. She often described her personal life as the "best job in the world," being her kids' mom and her husband's girlfriend. Her unwavering dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, creating a nurturing home filled with love and laughter.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; sons, Paul Brian and Michael Alan (Elizabeth); brothers, Jeff (Jolene), Brian, and Steve (Alene); and in-laws, Barbara La Grone (Glenn) and Margaret Hansen. Mindy was preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Mary Hanline; in-laws, Seth and Alta Hansen, Kathleen Hansen, Dale Hansen, and Robert Hansen.
A Family Celebration of Life to be announced at a later time. The Larkin Funeral Home is assisting the family during this difficult time. Mindy's legacy of love, education, and family devotion will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Our family is grateful for the wonderful staff at Legacy House of South Jordan, April, Cheryl, April, Kat, and so many others who kindly cared for her in her last days of life.
Guestbook/Condolences
We all miss her. The picture shown here perfectly captures Mindy's personality. It's how I'll remember her.
We have known Paul and Mindy for over 33 years as our neighbors and we are deeply sadden to hear about her passing. Rest in peace.
Mindy, such a beautiful person. Her warm smile greeted everyone. Our love and prayers are with you, Paul, and your family. I’m sure she will always be near.
So sorry for your loss Paul. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
It's been two months now since you left us Mindy and I'm still trying to figure out how to go on without you here with me. I feel so lost without you. We always did things together but now I struggle to accomplish the simplest of tasks. You were my guiding light and and always will be so I will do my best here without your light but my true desire is to join you. I only wish that I could do so some day very soon for my heart is broken and it makes carrying on in this life so difficult. I love you more than anything else in this world and pray every night that I can soon be with you again, forever and ever.
