Michael Paul DeJournette

1993 ~ 2023

January 27th, 1993 Michael Paul DeJournette was born to Joe and Mardell DeJournette in Yakima, WA. His one brother Tanner is married to Chris and they have 2 children with 1 on the way. His Grandparents are Rocky and Ann Rockholt. His memory will carry on through his wife Amanda and children, Dominic, Colson & Ariel.

Michael was always a type A personality who was driven to succeed. Even as a baby he didn't want to miss anything by wasting time on sleep and had a goal to retire by the time he was 50. Michael was a very smart child but was bored with school, so would frequently skip his high school classes to ski. When confronted by dad asking why he missed yet another day of school Michael's response was, "Well, there was a foot of powder" at the ski area. Dad would say, "But why did you skip school?" and he said, "I just told you... there was a foot of powder!" His love of skiing led to his leaving school early by acing his GED, freeing him to spend more time on the slopes. During his time living and working in the ski world, he created exciting and artistic videos of friends doing acrobatics and was a daredevil on the slopes himself.

Michael was always a fun-loving kid and would perform crazy antics to make his brother laugh and he loved adventure. While Michael was growing up his family enjoyed camping, fishing and snow skiing. He grew to love the outdoors and became more adventurous the older he got. His dad instilled in him a love of motorcycles at an early age. The house rule was the boys had to be 5 years old before they could ride on the back of dad's motorcycle so Michael was always asking if he was 5 yet so he could get his first ride. When the big day finally came to take his first ride he was hooked.

Michael was known as Mike or DeJ to all his friends. Michael made friends everywhere he went and Utah was no exception. When he turned 19 he decided he was moving to Utah with his skiing buddy Josh. He loaded up his Subaru with his clothes and ski equipment and he and dad headed to Utah. He fell in love with Utah and all the outdoor activities.

Michael excelled in the car sales field. His auntie Marie still remembers the day he stopped letting her treat him to lunch and insisted on picking up the tab. Michael met Alex Webb through one of his jobs and they became instant buds. He then met Alex's sister Amanda. They had many interests in common and fell in love and married September 24th 2022.

Michael and Amanda lived in Eagle Mountain with the kids and Rottweilers. Michael eventually left car sales behind and got his dream job as business manager and then General Sales Manager at Summit Harley-Davidson in Lindon, Utah.

There was so much more to Michael, so many stories, so much depth, but how do you put all that on a page? Michael will always be remembered as a loving and generous person, with a kind heart, devotion to family and a ready smile. Michael passed away on Sunday October 29th 2023.

Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the services.

We are so very sorry for your loss. We just met Mike recently at Summit Harley. My husband bought me my first Harley and Mike assisted in that process. He was amazing and we wished we could have gotten to know him better. We heard nothing but wonderful things about him.
Ride with the angels Mike!!
