With heavy hearts we announce the passing of my eternal companion, best friend, and soul-mate, Michael Lewis. He showed me love I didn't know existed every day. He was a devoted father and loves his boys more than anything. Michael won the hearts of all my children and they consider him as their father/bonus dad. Over the last several years we enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved so much. Michael was a life-long cherished friend.

Michael passed away December 26, 2024 at the age of 57 in the arms of his loving, eternal wife. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 9, 1967, he is beloved by his father, parents Gen & Von Jenson, and sister Michelle Lewis. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Kellie Lewis, their children; Bridger and Brock Lewis, Tyson Daugharty (Maryann), Brock Peppelaar (Jory), Austin McFall, Aidan McFall (Paige), Brittain McFall (Little One), and Oscar; and grandchildren; Isla, Samson, Magnus, and Leander.

Michael graduated from the University of Utah in 1991 with a double major in Medical Microbiology & Biochemistry and Psychology. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Most of Michael's professional life was dedicated to money lending and venture capital. The past few years he spent time helping his wife Kellie, as they built businesses together. Most recently their new clinic location in Price, where he loved the patients.

Michael is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed many friendships in the ward. He will be remembered for his huge heart full of love, loyalty to his family and friends, humor, and most of all his willingness to give everything he has to others. In his free time he loved flying planes, snowboarding, modeling, jet skiing, boating, golfing with his favorite daughter, lifting weights, traveling with his wife, cooking with his wife for their family, and giving all to Kellie and the family. Michael and Kellie went everywhere together. They were inseparable.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wanderwood Ward (2195 East Pepperwood Dr, Sandy, Utah). A viewing will take place on Thursday, January 2 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Friday, January 3 from 10:00-10:45 AM (2195 East Pepperwood Dr, Sandy, Utah). The interment will be at South Jordan Cemetery (10630 S. 1055 W., South Jordan, UT 84095) immediately following the celebration of life.

To Michael’s Family,

My heart is incredibly heavy as I write this. I recently learned of Michael’s passing, and the sadness I feel is deep and personal. Michael was more than a best friend to me — he was a brother in spirit. I had the privilege of living in Utah about 10 years ago, and it was during that time that our bond truly formed and flourished.

We met nearly every morning as workout partners, and what began as shared fitness goals quickly evolved into something much more meaningful. Our conversations spanned everything from family and business to cars and the joys of everyday life. There was never a dull moment with Michael — only laughs, motivation, and a contagious zest for life.

It’s no surprise we connected so deeply — we were born just a day apart, and that closeness seemed to echo in every part of our friendship. Michael’s presence was a gift: he was inspiring, positive, and always uplifting. He didn’t just talk about a good life — he made others want to live it better too.

I had the joy of getting to know his beautiful family, and I want you all to know how deeply I admire and respect you. Michael often spoke about you with so much pride and love. He truly cherished his family.

While it’s incredibly hard to accept that he’s no longer with us, I find comfort in the belief that God called him home for a higher purpose. Michael’s light was bright here, and I have no doubt that it shines even brighter now.

May you all find strength and peace in the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and please know that Michael left an unforgettable mark on my life — one I will carry with me always.

With love and deepest sympathy,
Rich
