Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Mignonette Ruth Ray Heldman, passed from our world and into the next on December 12th, 2020. Born January 16th, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Lorna Faye Miller Ray and Jonnie Ray. She was a lifelong cat lover, owning a multitude of feline friends who kept her company throughout her life. She found peace in gardening, especially loving her sunflowers and hollyhocks. She enjoyed reading, and she could always be found with a dictionary. She had a fun, spunky personality that loved to goof around with her friends and family. She especially loved watching Scooby Doo in addition to other cartoons like Studio Ghibli movies. She always wanted to go camping, during rain and shine, and dreamed of revisiting Germany in life. She was well educated, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Utah on June 6th, 1969. She had a big heart, and generously opened her home to her family when they were in need. She is succeeded by her two children, Joshua Heldman and Rebecca Carlson, and her seven grandchildren, Natascha McAninch, Aaron Carlson, Alyia Carlson, Hailee Heldman, Anthony Carlson, Joshua Heldman, and Makayla Heldman. Her funeral service will be held at a later date.
