Mikayla McCoy Jensen was born December 7, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The eldest child of Brian McCoy and Jodi Hackwell McCoy. Mikayla was a beautiful young lady and a social butterfly whose big smile often brought light to every room she entered. She enjoyed traveling and camping with friends and family, making crafts and getting pampered with manicures and pedicures, which was her favorite escape.

Mikayla died unexpectedly in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 6, 2021. She has joined her grandmothers Jolene (Colvin) Hackwell and Colleen Juenger Hackwell on her journey to heaven. Her memories will be held close by her beautiful boy, Caysn Jensen, her parents, Brian McCoy and Jodi (Kelly) Cook, siblings Paris McCoy and Brendon McCoy, Ethan Van and Allison Cook; her grandparents Delbert & Irma Hackwell and Billy "Will" and Sue McCoy; great grandmother Eileen Juenger, aunts Mandy (Brandon Gagnon), Nichol (Matthew Rohrer); Teresa (Stephen Koontz), and uncle Cody Hackwell; cousins Jade, Owen, Waylon, Eastwood, Harrison, Cash, Christian, Willow, Breanna, Dylan, Alyssa & Kaylee. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandparents McCoy and Weis.

Mikayla would want to be remembered for the love she had for her son, Caysn, and for the many selfless decisions she has had to make in her short life. It was also her decision to donate her organs so those recipients will have a second chance at life.

A celebration of Mikayla's life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. A service to remember her life will begin at the conclusion of the viewing at 2:30 pm.
