Mojtaba “Moji” Jahromi

1925 ~ 2023

Mojtaba “Moji” Jahromi passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023, surrounded by his sons and grandchildren. He was 97 years young.

Moji was born in Tehran, Iran on November 2, 1925, to Abbas and Amineh. Moji's father passed when he was a year old and was raised by his grandfather, who he called Agha jan. Moji loved his Agha jan and spoke about him often while telling his family stories of his childhood.

Moji married the love of his life, Parvin "Parpar", in September 1951. During their 71 beautiful years together, they had two children, Vahid and Farid. Moji was a loving grandfather to four grandchildren, Ali, Jinous, Bijan, and Arjan. He was also a great-grandfather to Liana and Keyan - whom he loved tremendously.

Moji worked for the government for 35 years and retired at the age of 55. A few years later, along with his wife, he moved to the United States to be with his children.

Moji is survived by his wife and children and preceded in death by his parents and sister, Azar Oreyzi.

Moji will always be remembered as a gentle, private, and very loving person. He always loved gatherings with family and friends and playing card games. If he could, he would stay up all night playing cards.

On behalf of our family, we would love to thank Highland Care Center for all their help taking care of Babajun for the last five months. Jessica, Penny, Maria, Liz, Iritza, Heather, and Katie – you all were so kind to him and so very patient. Your guys’ support was very much appreciated.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on June 5th, 2023, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A reception will be held at 4:00 pm following the service at Le Jardin, 1910 East Dimple Dell Road, (10600 South), Sandy, UT.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Moji’s honor to the Dementia Society of America.
