Barbara Ann Gray Johnson, 71, of South Jordan, Utah passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, April 25, 2019 after battling cancer. She was born May 8, 1947 in Portland, Oregon to Deldon Lamar and Marie (Nelson) Gray.
Barbara married Van R Johnson on August 30, 1967 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. They had seven children, 30 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. She lived most of her adult life in Loomis, California with her husband and children. Van and Barbara served as Mission President of the Hartford Connecticut Mission, and as missionaries in the New Zealand Area Office. Barbara had a true gift of painting, decorating, and saw the beauty in all things. Her life was spent in love and devotion to her family and others. Barbara was a Oquirrh Mountain Temple ordinance worker until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Alisha Johnson; brother Deldon Lamar Gray Jr.
Survivors include her husband Van R Johnson; children Jerilyn (Darren) Butterfield, Daron (Staci) Johnson, Bryan (Trish) Johnson, Devan (Kim) Johnson, Deldon (Karen) Johnson, Jashel (Ryan) Euer; 30 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings Donna (Mick) Frame, Delmar (Luann) Gray, Douglas (Pam) Gray, Richard (Gayle) Gray, Kenneth (Rebecca) Gray, and Jolene (Ken Krahenbuhl).
A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 1st 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Larkin Mortuary-Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, Utah. A viewing, 9:30 am to 10:30 am before the funeral services at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 2nd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 10860 South 3200 West, South Jordan, UT.
