Geraldine Campagna Updyke

1931 ~ 2016

Geraldine (Jerry) Campagna Updyke, passed away on her 85th birthday, March 16, 2016. Born in Salt Lake City, UTon March 16, 1931 to Joseph Edward Campagna and Mary Philinda Anderson. She was married to Daniel Franklin Updyke, Jr. April25th 1949.

Jerry was a faithful and beloved member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a Relief Society President. She was sealed to her husband in the Salt Lake City Temple August 23rd 1984. She served her mission with the Murray LDS Employment Resource Services.

Her passion for life was apparent in her involvement in sports, most importantly, bowling; roller skating, snow skiing, water skiing, swimming, biking, and walking. Other interest include reading, square dancing, opera, symphony, and cards. All of her life she was a passionate competitor. She earned her 300 ring in league play, and had the distinction of being inducted in the Salt Lake Women\s Bowling Association Hall of Fame for Superior Performance.

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, her siblings: Edward, Raymond, Evelyn, Harriet, her daughter Kelsey, and her grandson Joshua. She is survived by her brother Don, her son Sandy, and her daughter Terry Stackhouse, her 6 grandchildren, and her 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25th 2016 at 1:00pm at the Butler 4th Ward House, 6600 South Greenfield Way, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. Viewings will be held the evening before, March 24th at 6:00-8:00pm at Larkin Mortuary 260 E South Temple SLC, UT. An additional viewing will be held prior to the service at the ward house at 11am. Interment will be at 3:00pm at Elysian Burial Gardens at 1075 E 4580 S, Millcreek, UT 84117.
